Autumn arrives with turkey and fun!

Our first week back from the Thanksgiving long weekend has been a busy one! From rugby and soccer games, cross country races and house games, the boys have been very active physically.  Below are some great actions shots of the grade 8/9 rugby game vs Shawnigan from Tuesday.  All boys played very well and are really starting to understand the game.

In addition to their sporting efforts, many boys were out and around town at a variety of activities including a trip to a haunted house, pottery making, and a volleyball game. Antonio proudly shows off his newly prepared bowl at Fired Up studio in downtown Victoria.

Sunday was the first official House Games with points being awarded toward the House Cup trophy presented at the end of the year to the house with the most points and the boys made us very proud! The day saw Boltonites playing indoor and outdoor soccer, participating in an “Amazing Race Twitter” competition and working together at a team challenge where they had to build, decipher and communicate to complete a number of tasks.  Our boys presented themselves very well in their new shirts and we are very proud of their effort, positivity and great attitude.

Last week was the annual Thankgsgiving dinner held in the double gym. The theme this year was West Coast and it was celebrated with a wonderful reading from our local First Nations People.  This was followed by a delicious turkey dinner served by the houseparents.  Each boy added his thoughts on what he beleived he brought to the house and boarding community that others were thankful for.   The same was done in the other houses and then all the responses were combined. There were some wonderful answers, and it is evident we live in a vibrant, positive and supportive community.  Joel made us especially proud with his efforts in the pumpkin hockey race!

This week has everyone back to their regular schedule of academic classes, athletics, fine arts and social activities. Everyone has settled in nicely and Bolton is looking better than ever.
