For their Saturday outing on September 29th, 6 SMUS boarding students were able to visit Oak Bay Lodge Assisted Living Carehome where they volunteered in an Arts-based curriculum, headed by employee Ms. Trudy Paluth-Penner. The students presented themselves to the Residents, sang along (played the spoons even!), took part in drama improvs, and some even performed their SMUS recitation pieces. The Residents were thrilled to have these outgoing students spend two hours with them, and the students enjoyed themselves immensely. Some even want to return as volunteers on a regular basis, and asked for forms upon leaving. It was a very optimistic inter-generational sharing.
