Grade 9 Rugby

Written by coach and Bolton HP, Mr. Daum:

The grade 9 rugby team continues its undefeated season with a big win over Brentwood yesterday in front of the home crowd. The four Bolton boys who were on the field displayed grit, determination and skill. Christian was a leader in the forward pack playing at number 8 and tackling like a man possessed.  This has been an area of great strength for him all season and it was a delight to watch. Nick in the front row was a rock as always with some of his best line out throwing of the year taking place. SMUS won every one of their line outs and scrums thanks to his hard work. Jacky on the wing was a speed demon who almost got away for two tries, but was just caught at the last second by some desperate defense. He continues to grow in confidence and poise and is a danger to the opposition. Last, but not least was David in the second row who has improved in leaps and bounds from his first game.  Always reliable on defence he continues to make life difficult for the opposition ball runners. We are so proud of our young men and wish them well as they compete in the 7’s tournament next week and then head to Collingwood in Vancouver for their final test against the only other undefeated team in the league! Good luck boys!
