The Year of the Penguin

2014 is not really the “year of the penguin” but the boys returned back to Bolton House in such good spirits that you think it was. As our Head of House Matt pointed out in a recent house meeting, term two is popular because it is short and is full of opportunity. Rugby, basketball, rowing and badminton are all firing up this season as well as intense preparations for the school musical (SPAMalot, this year) and various social initiatives like the Free the Children Gala and Black History month.

There will be more on all that later. This weekend we had the hotly contested Basketball Housegames along with a series of “minute to win it” initiatives. My speech to the boys at the housemeeting was fairly straightforward, with a message of getting involved  and taking care of one another. The boys took that to heart at housegames and competed with spirit and determination. They supported each other through trails and triumphs and in the end had a lot of fun.
