This week was a relatively calm one compared to last week as the Bolton Boys settled back into a rhythm of classes, sports and hanging out.
Laurent is SMUS Artist of the Month!
Congratulations to Laurent for having his amazing art work on display at the school and for being selected as the Artist of the Month. Below are some of his pieces from the full display in the school library.
Prefect Reboot
Dimitri, Timmy and Pasit joined the other prefects for a mid year refresher on how to be a great leader. They participated in many activities and worked in groups to reflect on the first half of the year and set goals for the rest of 2016.
Saturday Activities
Those boys who were not away at basketball or home for a visit with their families had an opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities on Saturday. There was a hockey game in the evening, a fiercely contested pickle ball tournament in the afternoon, swimming, an IMAX movie at the museum, a very exciting geocaching treasure hunt and a visit to the Victoria Art Gallery to learn about Emily Carr.
Boarders Without Borders
A number of boys took advantage of the generosity and hospitality of some of the local parents and participated in the annual Boarders Without Borders dinner. Each boy was hosted by the family of a day student and treated to a delicious home cooked meal and had a chance to strengthen the bonds between the various communities of the school.
Athletics
No fewer than 8 Bolton boys were away in Vancouver this weekend playing basketball at various tournaments. Timmy, Jack and Edi were with the Senior B’s, Adrian was supporting the Junior A Team and Garry, Amos, Connor and Dele lead the charge for the Junior B’s. By all accounts it was a very fun road trip! Edi was also supporting the Police Tournament by selling food at the concession.
Grade 8 Scavenger Hunt
Sunday morning saw the grade 8 boys heading out on their own for a selfie scavenger hunt at the local mall. They had an opportunity to be off campus on their own, a privilege the older students enjoy every day, and they were very excited.
Here is a fun candid of Conner doing SMUS got Talent in assembly on Tuesday. He was representing the grade 9’s along with Lucas and performed admirably in front of the whole school!
