The Leaves Are Changing

September has come and gone and it is hard to believe that it is officially fall on campus. The ivy growing on the buildings has started to change from a bright green to a deep red as the sun starts to set on campus earlier in the evening.

Saturday activities this week included a trip to Galey Farms Pumpkin Patch, swimming at Commonwealth Pool, a trip to Uvic to watch the men’s basketball game, a walk through the Vancouver Island Corn Maze and a broom pull on Mt Tolmie.

Our grade 11’s were off on their Outdoor Education Trips this week taking them to Penticton to Rock Climb, Saltspring Island’s Eco Village, Surfing in Tofino, Sea Kayaking in the Gulf Islands, Local Scuba Diving, hiking in Strathcona park and more! Although most returned tired and ready for hot showers, there were plenty of smiles and adventurous stories to be shared. Pictures to follow.

Throughout the year each house is given the task of running a chapel service. This year Bolton was selected to present first and we were determined to put together a memorable evening. The boys really came together and worked very hard to prepare for the night. The service included magic performed by Laurent Zhang, musical performances by Edward Li, David Allens, David Li, Philippe Welter, Jack Bitoni, Jack Zhu, Laurent Zhang and Mr. Butterfield. Jeronimo Garcia, David Xu and Derry Li delivered heartfelt speeches about brotherhood and had everyone in the audience hanging on every word. For the final act all of the boys got together and sang You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban. The night was a tremendous success and Bolton certainly set the bar high for Chapels to follow. Watch sections of it HERE.

Congratulations to the Jr Boys Soccer Team for their second place finish at the ISA tournament. Klaus and Carlos were happy to show off their medals.
