Farewell Summer, Hello Autumn

The weather has begun to cool, the sun is setting earlier, and it has started to rain in the evening, a sure sign that autumn has arrived to beautiful Victoria. The leaves have even started to fall as Richard, Justin and Adam can attest to!  The grade 11 boys have been gone most of the week on their out trips, rugby is in full swing for the grade 8’s and 9’s, Junior (who just finished 2nd in the ISA tournament) and Senior Soccer have begun their seasons, and the many extra curricular activities have started up with clubs, councils, intramural teams, and a host of other events.  The boys have settled into the routines of boarding and school life, and we are very pleased with the positive energy and sense of brotherhood that exists in Bolton this year.

Last Friday the grade 8’s participated in the Terry Fox Run, an annual event held at the Middle School.  All the boys were out running in support of Cancer Research and our very own houseparent Mr. Danskin was leading the charge.

The grade 8 boys were also out for a rugby game on a glorious Thursday afternoon playing arch-rival Shawnigan Lake.  Alejandro, Hemmesh and Leo proudly represented Bolton House and played with skill, enthusiasm and courage.  They emerged victorious and have set a high standard for the rest of the boys to follow this year.  It was wonderful to see Pine and Frank out supporting them too.

Matthias also took some time out from his busy academic and extra curricular schedule this week to enjoy a bit of lighthearted fun in the library!  Really, the boys do attend classes and do homework!  We promise.
