We are getting close to wrapping up 2017 and there have been plenty of signs that Christmas is upon us. Our school Carol Service at Christ Church Cathedral was this week, and the historic building has played host to the service for decades. When Bolton houseparent and SMUS alumnus, Mike Danskin, was in Grade 1 at the school, he was selected to light the candles for that year’s service. The night is always filled with splendid performances and thoughtful words.
Homerooms are getting into the spirit as well, with ornament making and goodie baking!
Some major developments can be seen in the construction of the new dining hall, the Sun Centre, and a few staff members were treated to a tour.
We have also had an amazing streak of weather that has helped produce a series of beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Although, a little cooler out, it is a nice change from the wet stuff!
As we bring things to a close on 2017, students can look forward to next week’s All School Christmas Assembly. It’s a wonderful chance to share in some song and laughter, and finish the calendar year with a little fun together!
